Charles Rich

Charles Rich (September 13, 1771 – October 15, 1824) was a United States Representative from Vermont. He was born in Warwick, Massachusetts. He received a limited schooling and moved to Shoreham, Vermont in 1787.

Rich was a member of the Vermont House of Representatives 1800–1811. Later, he served as a county judge for six years. He was elected as a Democratic-Republican to the Thirteenth Congress (March 4, 1813 – March 3, 1815). Later, he was elected to the Fifteenth and to the three succeeding Congresses and served from March 4, 1817, until his death in Shoreham in 1824. He was buried in the family vault on his farm there.
