Warren Samuel Eaton

Warren Samuel Eaton (June 12, 1891 – June 22, 1966) was a pioneer aviator.

He was born in South Dakota in 1891 and moved to Los Angeles, California with his parents. Eaton formed the Eaton Brothers Aircraft Company with his brother Frank Eaton in Los Angeles. Eaton flew his first solo in June 1909. Warren and Lincoln Beachy formed a barnstorm team and put on shows across the United States. Warren designed and built Beachy's aircraft. When the U.S. Government established licensing for pilots, Eaton was issued License Number 85.

World War I

WWI, Warren worked for the U.S. Army Air Service at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. After the war, he went to work for Universal Pictures and created miniatures to be used in movies. He built a set of San Francisco which was used to depict the destruction of the city during the 1906 Earthquake. He also constructed a copy of the Notre Dame Cathedral used in the Hunchback of Notre Dame movie. He died in 1966 and was buried in the Portal of Folded Wings Shrine to Aviation.
