Colombia at the 1998 FIFA World Cup

Colombia played with passion in its three matches at the 1998 FIFA World Cup, but the country had nothing to show for it. The team's early exit after the first round at the World Cup marked the end of an era - A Golden Generation - that included Carlos "El Pibe" Valderrama, Freddy Rincon, Wilson Perez, Harold Lozano, Faustino Asprilla , and Antony de Avila. Colombia came to France 98' hoping to improve on a disastrous first-round elimination in the United States in 1994. But a weak attack, internal turmoil and age wiped out those dreams.
