John E. Thompson

Prolific artist and cartoonist, John Enrique Thompson (born 1969) began his career with a series of critically acclaimed mini-comics including "Jesus Comix", "The Many Faces of John", "Terrifying All-True Army Tales" and a comic adpatation of Dostoyevski's "Crime and Punishment" where he used existing comic strip characters as characters from the classic novel. In 1996 he began a monthly stip in Bloomington, Indiana's BC Magazine called "Popped Culture Theater" debuting his character "Action Cop!". "Action Cop!" ran on the Comic Book E-Mag's weekly website from 1997-1999 and made appearances in a number of small press publications.

John's work has appeared in various publications including "Metal Curse Magazine", "National Lampoon" and "The Seattle Scroll". His most recent work includes a series of zincplate prints, "An Ode To Nick Drake" featuring a series of illustrated suicides, a copperplate print illustrating the five phases of grief, and a 24-hour comic titled "A Solid Plan".

He currently helms a graphic design/web design studio Drippan Design.
