Parachrony

Parachrony

Parachrony is a figurative or metaphorical singularity or inaccuracy of chronology, that consists of presuming that an event happens later than it occurred on the basis of narrator’s faculty to alter reality with fictional or allegorical purpose. Parachrony differs from linear time perspective for its rigid mechanical perception of certainty, which disregards the different dimensions of materiality.

Parachrony is considered a type of anachronism (from the Greek ανά, "against," and χρόνος, "time"), which refers to something out of its equitable time. For example, Sergio Badilla Castillo depicts a divine figure from Kalevala (Tapio) using a cell phone, in his book "Kalahuala"; this is an anachronism.
