Heljan A/S is a Danish model railway company based in Søndersø. Originally specialising in decorations and accessories for model railways, it has now also developed a substantial range of rolling stock. It has diversified into modelling the British scene, and since 2002 have released several OO gauge diesel locomotives, and several O gauge models.

Their current OO gauge range consists of British Rail Class 26s, 27s, 33s, 35s, 47s, 52s and 57s. They have won praise for releasing models in a wide variety of liveries. They also sell OO gauge Dogfish and Cargowaggon freight stock.

Their O gauge range currently consists of Class 35s and Class 47s, and a Class 37 was revealed recently.

Traditionally, Heljan has concentrated on Continental prototypes, with models released in HO. Their UK operations are run through an agent.

Future plans

At Warley 2006, Heljan announced plans to release Class 58 , Class 17 and Class 53 Locomotive 'Falcon'. Both Class 58 and 'Falcon' Models were released during 2007, whilst Class 17 Locomotives are due to be released in the early part of 2008.

The Class 53 Falcon quickly sold out, and annother production run is planned for 2008, correcting the problems the model has had with the detatchable buffer beams.
