Frank B. Zoltowski

Frank B. Zoltowski is an amateur Australian astronomer. In 1998, Zoltowski was awarded a Gene Shoemaker NEO Grant [ [http://www.planetary.org/programs/projects/neo_grants/grants_1998.html The 1998 Gene Shoemaker NEO Grant Recipients] ] for improved Near-Earth Object searches. Zoltowski conducts these searches from his home in Woomera, Australia.

He is a prolific discoverer of asteroids. He is also the author of [http://www.sbig.com/sbwhtmls/ccdtrack.htm CCDTRACK] , a computer program that autoguides electronically-controlled telescopes by tracking a user-selected celestial object.

He discovered that the asteroid 1999 AN10 could potentially crash into Earth, but is likely to miss by at least 37,000 kilometers. It is expected to pass at around 2027.
