"Innercity Griots" is the second album by Los Angeles Hip Hop group Freestyle Fellowship, released in 1993 through 4th & B'way Records. The group, consisting of four emcees: Aceyalone, P.E.A.C.E., Mikah 9 and Self Jupiter, received wide acclaim with their second project. Released during the prominent gangsta era of West Coast hip hop, "Innercity Griots", along with albums like The Pharcyde's "Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde" and Del tha Funkee Homosapien's "I Wish My Brother George Was Here", established an acclaimed era of alternative hip hop in California.

The group's unique sing-songy, freestyled lyrical deliveries and jazzy production were popular with underground fans, but the album was not able to crossover into mainstream audiences, failing to reach any Billboard album or singles chart. "Innercity Griots" features production from The Earthquake Brothers (The Jamm Messenger D, Mathmattiks and The Mighty O-Roc), Daddy-O (of Stetsasonic), and the group itself. The album features the singles "Bullies of the Block" and "Hot Potato".

Following the release of "Innercity Griots", the Freestyle Fellowship split-up to pursue individual projects. Aceyalone began a popular solo career in 1995 with the release of his debut album "All Balls Don't Bounce". The group remained split until 1998, when they recorded their third album "Shockadoom".
