Severn Bridge Junction

Severn Bridge Junction

Severn Bridge Junction is the area of railway lines at Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England, controlled by the signal box of the same name. Housing a 180-lever frame it is the largest remaining mechanical signal box in the UK and is thought to be the 2nd largest in the world. Its design follows that of an enlarged standard LNWR design of 1876. This listed structure was opened in 1904 and was the joint property of the London & North Western and Great Western Railways.
