He was married to Pammi Veerender. Together they have 3 children; 2 sons (Randeep & Ramamandeep) and 1 daughter. The oldest of them all, Randeep has already starred in one movie, directed by his mother, Dullha Bhatti (1998). The younger son Ramandeep is a model. Veerendra was assassinated on 6th December 1988 during the shooting of Jatt Tey Zameen. Actually in one scene a real revolver went off when it should have been fake.
