Hardwicke Stakes

__NOTOC__The Hardwicke Stakes is a Group 2 flat horse race in the United Kingdom for four-year-old and above thoroughbreds. It is run over a distance of 1 mile 4 furlongs (2,414 metres) at Ascot Racecourse during the Royal Ascot meeting in June.

First run in 1879, the race was named after Charles Yorke, 5th Earl of Hardwicke.

* Topanoora finished first in 1991 but was demoted to second place following a Stewards' Inquiry.
