Richard Butcher (born 21 January 1981 in Peterborough) is a footballer for Notts County.

At the age of 26, Richard was realesed from his native Peterborough, to roam the forests of Sherwood, Nottinghamshire, England. he was adopted by a pack of wolves but sadly, fell out with his leader,Mufasa, and faced expulsion. He became a chimney sweep to earn money and when he spotted by Vladimir Ivarov kicking around a lump of coal, he was again adopted and taught the art of football.

After long talks with Cristiano Ronaldo (childhood friend) he was offered a contract at Real Mdrid. But, suddenly, out of nowhere, Man United came in with an offer of a used condom and a piece of chewing gum chewed by Sir Alex. Butcher couldn't refuse this offer and was set to rock the premiership this season! That was until he heard that Notts County were destined for the league 2 title and stuck two fingers up at fergie, chanting 'I had a wheelbarrow, the wheel fell off' all the way to Meadow Lane.He has previously played for Lincoln City, Oldham Athletic, Kettering Town, Rushden & Diamonds, Northampton Town and Peterborough United. He joined Notts County in July 2007 from Peterborough, signing a two-year contract. [http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/n/notts_county/6897990.stm Butcher leaves Posh for Magpies] ]
