Hal De Forrest

Aloysius J. De Sylva a.k.a Hal De Forrest (1862, Portugal – 16 February 1938, New York City) was a Portuguese-born American early silent film actor. After emigrating to New York City from Portugal he became a stage actor starring on Broadway in the original A Gentleman from Mississippi play performed between September 29, 1908 – September 1909.

He moved into film in 1915 but only starred in 9 films until his retirement from acting in 1922 aged 60.

He died in New York City in February 1938.
