HSC Hoverspeed Great Britain

HSC "Hoverspeed Great Britain" is a 74 metre long, ocean-going catamaran built in 1990 by Incat for the UK company Hoverspeed. In 1990, she took the Blue Riband record for the fastest eastbound transatlantic journey, making the run in 3 days 7 hours 54 minutes, travelling at an average speed of convert|36.6|knots|km/h. The previous record set by the SS "United States" had stood for nearly forty years.

The ship is currently named "Speedrunner 1", and is sailing in the Mediterranean Sea for Sea Containers Ltd and Aegean Speed Lines.

HSC "Hoverspeed Great Britain" was replaced on the cross-channel route by MDV 1200 class ferries HSC "SuperSeaCat One" and HSC "SuperSeaCat Two".
