fictional character from the Americantelevision series , "Prison Break ". He is played by Reggie Lee. The character was introduced to the series as a Secret Service agent assigned to PresidentCaroline Reynolds ; however, he appears to be a fairly high-ranking employee of "The Company". Kim was apparently the man in charge of eliminating any and all threats to the Company, such as theFox River Eight andAldo Burrows and his network of followers. He appears to be lacking any scruples or conscience. He acts as an intermediary agent between the President and
Paul Kellerman (Paul Adelstein ), which causes ill feelings between them. Shortly after theFox River Eight escape, Kim becomes Kellerman's new supervisor. Kellerman is dismayed by this, as he has directly reported to Reynolds for 15 years. Kim explains that this is due to Reynolds's being increasingly busy with other matters, as well as to further insulate her from any potential allegations of wrongdoing. Background
William Kim is one of the most elusive characters, and not much is known about him. The character revealed to Michael Scofield in the episode "Sweet Caroline" that he had once attended Mount Fort Military Academy, implying a military background. From there, he was apparently recruited into The Company. Unlike most other major characters, none of Kim's family members have been introduced. He apparently has no concience or ethics but not much explanation is given as to why, aside from a fleeting hint that he was the victim of penalism as part of his training at Mount Fort.
Appearances
Kim was introduced in the second season's fifth episode, "
Map 1213 " as Kellerman's supervisor, and he has appeared a majority of the second season episodes up until his death in the season finale.eason 2
Kim first appears in the fifth episode, introduced as Kellerman's new supervisor. He is critical of Kellerman's decision to shadow
Sara Tancredi (Sarah Wayne Callies ) until she leads him toLincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell ) andMichael Scofield (Wentworth Miller ), but later agrees to let Kellerman continue to shadow Dr. Tancredi, but reiterates that Kellerman will be reporting to him and not the President.Throughout the season’s first 13 episodes, Kim orders the death of all he percieves as a threat to the conspiracy, even including Dr. Tancredi's father,
Illinois Governor Frank Tancredi (John Heard), who became wise to Kellerman, and possibly the conspiracy. He arranges for the murder of the elder Tancredi, and plots to kill Sara as well. Kim orders Kellerman to kill Sara, who has already been tortured by Kellerman in order to learn the location of her father's evidence. However, Sara escapes. Tired of Kellerman's failures, Kim has him cut off, disavowing any records relating him to President Reynolds. In the episode "
The Killing Box ", Kellerman calls Kim with a plan to eliminate the recently recaptured Lincoln and Michael. Kim agrees but then instructs an operative to kill Kellerman. This plot backfires, and in the following episode, "John Doe", Kim learns of Kellerman's betrayal, but fails to protect Terrence Steadman before Kellerman can get his hands on him. In the meantime, he puts preasure onAlexander Mahone , the leader of the FBI manhunt who is secretly under blackmail from The Company, to murder the fugitives.Kim’s efforts to kill Michael and Lincoln continues to be unsuccessful. After the brothers escape to Panama in the episode ”Panama”, he is told to re-configur his strategy. Kim is ordered by his superior, the Pad Man, to kill Lincoln and frame Michael for it, thus ensuring Michael’s incarceration at the prison called Sona. Although he hates being in the field, Kim then personally travels to Panama in the season finale to complete The Company's plan. While attempting to shoot Lincoln, Kim is himself shot and killed by Sara Tancredi.
