Pullancheri is a location at Manjeri of Kerala state of India, with hills and one river named Kadalundy River. Pullancheri is situated 5 kilometres away from Manjeri. This area is the 27th Ward of Manjeri Municipality. This place is situated at the east of Manjeri town. East side of Pullancheri is Nellikkuth and Pandikkad. South is Anakkayam and north is Payyanad. Pullancheri is 5 km far from Manjeri town. Direct way to Pullanchei is through Manjeri - Vayparappadi - Kunnathambalam (Kunnathu Temple) - Elamparamba - Vettecode - Alungal - Pallippadi - Eranikkal - Pullancheri. There is another way to reach Pullancheri. It is through Anakkayam. This way need to travel 2 km more than the other way. It is Manjeri - Vayapparappadi - Muttippalam - Anakkayam - Pulliyilangadi - Kalathingalppadi - Eranikkal - Pullancheri.

Vettecode

Vettecode is a place which is situated at the highest part of Manjeri town. The Pullancheri Post Office is situated at Vettecode. There is a religious college and masjid of Thableegh Jamaa'ath situated here.

Alungal

Alungal is a place situated in the middle of a hill. It is on the way from Vettecode to Pullancheri. There is a small dam built for the purpose of irrigation here. There is a stone metal crusher unit here.

Eranikkal

Eranikkal is a junction where the road deviated to Anakkayam and Nellikkuth.

Cheenikkamanna

This is the centre of Pullancheri. The place is also known as 'Naniyangadi' as a person do business here who's nickname is Nani.

Mannassery

This a very rural area of Pullancheri.

Employment

The main occupation of the people is agriculture. The main crop is rice, but as the price of rice decreased and the cost of production increased, people have no interest to make rice. They leave the farms empty, there is no crop in the farm, during the rains. The threat of flood from the Kadalundi River also encourage them to do so. There was a heavy flood in the year 2007 which was the biggest one within 40 years. They make vegetables during summer. As the farm is near the Kadalundi River, the water is absorbed soon during summer. This forces the farmers to pump water from the nearest Kadalundi River. Lack of workers and increased wages discourages farmers from farming.

After agriculture, another occupation of the people is sales. Many people are working as salesmen in the nearest Manjeri town.

Only a few people work as government employees.

Education

Most of the people are not well educated. There are only a few people graduated. Most of the people are of high school education.

There are many educational institutions situated in Pullancheri area.

AMLP School, Pullancheri

First of all A.M.L.P. School is situated here in Pullancheri. This is the primary educational institution of the natives.

Nusrathul Islam Madrasa, Pullancheri

This is a religious educational institution for Muslim community of Pullancheri. This madrasa is affiliated to the Samastha Kerala Islam Matha Vidyabhyasa Board(SKIMVB), as it's authorisation number 1216. This is a secondary madrasa.

G.U.P. School, Vettecode

Other primary educational institution is G.L.P. School, Vettecode.

Noble Public School, Vettecode

Noble Public School is an english medium high school. This institution is run by mujahid movement. Recently this institution has split into two group institutions as a result of mujahid groupism.

Chinmaya Vidyalaya

Chinmaya Vidyala is situated in Vettecode area. This institution is run by Chinmaya Mission.

Jamia Salafiyya Higher Secondary School

Jamia Salafiyya Residential Higher Secondary School is an institution for women. This is run by Jamia Salafiyya, Pulikkal, Kondotty.

Religion

Most of the people of Pullancheri are Muslims. There is a juma masjid and 5 srambis under this masjid to worship. There is no temple or church in this area. Population of Christians in this locality is very low.

Pullancheri Juma Masjid

This is the main centre of worship for the Muslims of Pullancheri. Panakkad Sayyid Hyderali Shihab Thangal has been elected as Qazee of Pullancheri Mahallu on 25 July, 2008 due to the death of Panakkad Sayyid Umerali Shihab Thangal, (Chairman, Kerala Waqf Board). The Assistant Qazee is Mr. O.P. Musthafa Faizee of Oruvambram.

Kunnathu Temple

Actually this temple is on the way to Pullancheri but in Manjeri. This is a famous temple in Manjeri.

Politics

The major political parties in Pullancheri are Indian Union Muslim League(IUML), Communist Party of India (Marxist)(CPM), Indian National Congress(INC) and Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP). Most of the people are activits of Indian Union Muslim League and the second is Communist Party.
