The Abode of Chaos is a building located in Saint-Romain-au-Mont-d'Or, a small town in the vicinity of Lyon, France.It is a living sum of more than 2,500 artworks [ [http://www.e-flux.com/displayshow.php?file=message_1130435115.txt The neighbor from Hell] ] , performed by many different artists and Thierry Ehrmann, CEO of Groupe Serveur. The artwork is based around the transformation of Ehrmann's 17th century home into a replica war zone, at contrast with the peaceful village in which it is located [ [http://www.nytimes.com/2006/07/19/world/europe/19france.html?ex=1310961600&en=7ee751cf50667a28&ei=5088&partner=rssnyt&emc=rss&pagewanted=all "It's His House. The Abode of Chaos has been the subject of an on-going law suit from the local mayor's office [ [http://www.cnn.com/2006/TRAVEL/12/15/france.chaos.ap/index.html France's abysmal Abode of Chaos] ] . Ehrmann has been ordered to pay a fine for unauthorised construction under town planning laws but has not been ordered to restore his home to its original condition. The case is set to continue in the Court of Cassation, France's highest court. The legal fight revives the Brancusi law case in the 1920s.
