The rock band "Dabasu Durovys" was formed at the end of 2006 in Daugavpils.

Dabasu Durovys is Latgalian positive rock band. All the lyrics of the songs are written in Latgalian language. Band's name Dabasu Durovys means "The doors of the sky" (translation from Latgalian)

Its members - Arnis Slobozhanins (voice, acoustic guitar, harmonica), Sergejs Chakans (Bass Guitar), Vitalijs Andrushkevichs (Electric guitar) Egils Kulmanis (Back Vocals, saxophone) and Eriks Priluckis (Drums) all were students at Daugavpils University. The leaders of band Sergejs Chakans and Arnis Slobozhanins both have worked together previously and have composed most of the music and lyrics for Dabasu Durovys' songs. The band has considerable influence from KINO, Nirvana, The Rolling Stones, Līvi, Brainstorm, Laimas muzykanti and Bez PVN.

In spring of 2006 "Dabasu Durovys" had a few performances in Daugavpils University and festival "Manc Akorc" (My chord) in Rezekne.

In summer 2006 Eriks Priluckis finished studies, moved from Daugavpils and left the band. Janis Veliks (Former drummer of INK) successfully joined the band in July 2006.

In July 2006, the musicians participated in the festivals "Tu esi pamanīts" (You have been noticed) in Preiļi and "Muzykys Skrituļs" (The wheel of music) in Līksna. Soon after these festivals "Dabasu Durovys" gained popularity in Latgalia and started to perform regularly all around Latvia.

In September 2006 Arnis Slobozhanins composed first ever Latgalian blues song Vipingys blūzs and recorded it together with former INK musicians Viktors Oginskis (Bass) and Maris Veliks (Solo guitar)
