Passenger leukocyte

A passenger leukocyte is an immunological concept that is an important concept in transplatation biology. The term was conined in 1968 when Elkins and Guttmann showed that leukocytes present in a donor initiate an immune response in the recipient of a transplant. [Elkins, W.L. and Guttmann, R.D. 1968.
