- La Felguera
La Felguera is the largest parish in the municipality of
Langreo ,Asturias , in the north ofSpain , with 20,300 inhabitants. It is the fifth largest town in Asturias, afterGijón ,Oviedo ,Avilés andMieres . It is far to 18 minutes in car of Oviedo, the capital of Asturias. La Felguera is close to theNalón River .In the past it was the metallurgical center more important of Spain (XIXth and the first half the XXth century) , located inside the mining basin of Asturias.
The constructions most important are: the Church of San Pedro, the Church of Holy Lourdes, the former facilities of the Ancient Factory, the houses of the street Count Sizzo, the former College Salle, Engineers' Chalet, Pedro Duro's statue, the Market and three parks (Dolores F. Duro, Sutu and Lago).It has numerous annual celebrations (like San Peter's Fiestas or the "Days of the Cider") and an Art gallery. Today it shelters the center of new Companies and Technologies
Valnalón and the Museum of the Siderurgy.Links
