Hakan Altun

Hakan Altun (born 1972) is a Turkish singer and songwriter.

He was born in Istanbul. After finishing primary school, he began academy of music and completed his secondary, high and university educations in there thanks to his grandfather " Hafız Zeki Altun". After graduation, he went on with his music studies in master degree on " Traditional Turkish Music." When he was in the second year of his studies, he quit school and began his career in " Edirne State Choir" as a lute artist. Before his military service, he took stage in the most popular clubs of Istanbul. Then, he went to Ankara for his mandatory military service. There, he began to work on his first album. Being splendid with his first album which was named after Hakan Altun himself, he released a second album "Aglamak yok yuregim"( Never cry my heart) followed by a third album "Nefesimsim"( You are my breath). His forth album "Yaralı bir askın oykusu"( The story of a wounded heart). He followed up his steady way with his sixth album, "Hediye"( The gift), and the seventh album named "Küstüm asklara"( i am cross with loves).

Hakan Altun is prominent as a composer. He has composed a number of songs popular with various Turkish singers. With his unique voice and idiosyncratic way of singing, he draws attention and appreciation from all music lovers. He can play the lute, cumbush, guitar and clavier.
