Brian Lee (politician)

Brian Craig Lee (born: Winnipeg, Manitoba August 2, 1950) is an author and former politician.

Brian Lee began his political career winning election to Calgary Municipal Council in 1977. At the time of his election he was the youngest member elected in Calgary history. Brian was re-elected and served a second term in October 1980.

Brian ran as a Progressive Conservative Association of Alberta candidate in the 1982 Alberta general election and was elected as the member for Calgary Buffalo. In this election he would defeat Tom Sindlinger leader of the Alberta Reform Movement and a previous Progressive Conservative MLA. He resigned his municipal seat after that election on November 29, 1982.

During his time in the provincial government, he served as Chairman of the Privileges and Election Committee and was a member of the Economic Affairs, Senior Citizens Caucus and Public Accounts Committees.

Brian was defeated after his first term in the 1986 Alberta general election by Sheldon Chumir from the Alberta Liberal Party. He retired from active politics and founded Custom Learning Systems Group Ltd. He also founded the Health Care Service Excellence Institute.

Since Brian left politics he has written four books including "Satisfaction Guaranteed" and "Keep Your Nurses & Health Care Professionals For Life".

Brian Lee is also a professional speaker and trainer and a member of the Foothills Toastmasters Club.
