The Prix Kergorlay is a Group 2 flat horse race in France open to thoroughbreds which are three-years-old or above. It is run over a distance of 3,000 metres (approximately 1⅞ miles) at Deauville Racecourse, and it takes place annually in August.

The race was originally titled the Prix de la Société d'Encouragement, named after a horse racing organisation, the "Société d'Encouragement pour l'Amélioration des Races de Chevaux en France". The inaugural running on August 14, 1864 was part of the first ever race meeting to be held at Deauville. The distance of the race was initially set at 3,000 metres (equal to the present length), and the prize money for the winning owner was 5,100 francs.

Due to the Franco-Prussian War the Prix de la Société d'Encouragement was not run in 1871. The first of several changes to the race's title was made in 1875, when it became known as the Prix de Longchamps. The distance was cut to 2,800 metres in 1889 and then to 2,600 metres in 1896. It was increased to 3,400 metres in 1907.

In 1911 the race was given a new title, the Prix Florian de Kergorlay. This was in memory of Florian de Kergorlay (died October 1910), a former chairman of the "Société des Courses de Deauville". The race was abandoned throughout World War I, but it returned in 1919 with a new distance, 3,000 metres.

The name of the race was shortened to the Prix Kergorlay in 1929. During World War II it was cancelled twice, in 1940 and 1941. For the remainder of the war, while its regular venue was closed, the race was switched temporarily between Tremblay (1942–43) and Longchamp (1944–45).

Despite its long history only seven winners of the race have also won the Prix du Cadran, the most prestigious long distance event in France, in the same year. The most recent of these was Molesnes in 1994. Additionally, four horses have won both races in different seasons, the latest of which was Silex in 1953 and 1954.
