Jenny Logan

Jenny Logan (1942-) is a British actress, trained dancer and singer. Though she played WPC Sally Reed in the TV series "Dixon of Dock Green" in the mid to late 1960s, she is perhaps best known for her cult appearances as the cleaning lady in the television commercial for the carpet freshener Shake N Vac that ran from 1979 to 1988. .

The advert featured Jenny Logan dancing around a typical British living room in high heels, shaking the powder onto the carpet and hoovering it up, while singing a musical jingle. The main lyric is "do the Shake 'n' Vac, and put the freshness back".

After the advert, she continued to work in the theatre including various West End shows like Cowardy Custard, Annie and Copacabana which took her to Denmark. She also appeared as a black leather clad police vixen in a mini series of The Two Ronnies "The Worm That Turned"

Other acting credits include "Pennies From Heaven", "Lovejoy", "Never The Twain", "Park Ranger" and "Parting Shots" and more recently Londons Burning and the John Sullivan comedy "Roger Roger".

Logan appeared on "This Morning" in 2004 as a guest to talk about the well-remembered advert. In 2005, ITV named it one of their best ever commercials as part of their 50th birthday celebrations.

In early May 2007, at the ripe old age of 65, Logan featured in a TV magazine interview distributed within the "Daily Express"' discussing the legacy of the advert and on the 28 June 2007 was interviewed on the BBC Radio 2 Drivetime show presented by Chris Evans.
