Battlefords—Lloydminster is a federal electoral district in Saskatchewan, Canada, that has been represented in the Canadian House of Commons since 1997.

Geography

The district is in Central-Western Saskatchewan. It includes the communities of North Battleford, Lloydminster, Kindersley, Battleford and Unity.

History

The electoral district was created in 1996 from Kindersley—Lloydminster and The Battlefords—Meadow Lake ridings.

Members of Parliament

This riding has elected the following member of the Canadian House of Commons:

* 1997-present: Gerry Ritz - Reform (1997-2000), Canadian Alliance (2000-2003), Conservative (2003-present)

Current Member of Parliament

Its Member of Parliament is Gerry Ritz, a former farmer and contractor. He was first elected in 1997. He represents the Conservative Party of Canada. In the last parliamentary session he served as vice-chair of the 'Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food'. He is currently the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food.
