José Manuel da Silva Fernandes (born 22 February 1975 in Fraião, Braga), aka Zé Manel, is a Portuguese footballer who plays for Leixões S.C., as a pacy and scoring winger.

During his career, Zé Manel started played professionally for "Clube Caçadores das Taipas", moving straight from the Portuguese third level into the top flight, joining F.C. Paços de Ferreira as a 24-year-old. In his last season, he netted on 11 occasions, not good enough, however, to avoid relegation.

From 2004-07, Manel represented Boavista FC, scoring 10 goals in his debut year and also being an undisputed starter. The following season he joined Sporting Clube de Braga.

In 2008-09, Zé Manel signed a 1-year deal with league strugglers Leixões S.C..
