Sharif University of Technology Association (SUTA)

Sharif University of Technology Association (SUTA) is an organization that was formed in 2000 to facilitate communication and collaboration among the graduates, faculty and staff of the Sharif University of Technology formerly named as Aryamehr University of Technology. SUTA is a non-profit organization registered in the state of California, USA and has several chapters around the world. Its members mostly live outside Iran. It has no official relationship with the current administration of Sharif University of Technology, however they sometimes collaborate.

SUTA holds biennial reunions. The previous reunions were held in San Diego (2000), Toronto (2002), Heidelberg (2004) and Santa Clara (2006). 2006 Santa Clara reunion was badly influenced by US State Department denying entry to more than 80 participants who held valid visas [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sanctions_against_Iranian_scientists#Sharif_University_alumni_denied_entry_into_the_US] .
