Faffy is a fictional character, a dragon, in the short-lived cult classic Disney cartoon "Dave The Barbarian". He is voiced by the legendary voice actor Frank Welker, who has stated most of his "squeaks and snorts" were ad libbed. Faffy speaks some form of "Dragonese" which most of the characters in the series seem to understand.

Faffy is the royal family of Udrogoth's idiotic, potato-shaped pet dragon. Unlike most dragons, he breathes lightning and is domesticated, plus he doesn't have a tail. (Faffy rarely uses his lightning breath as a defense. He mostly seems to zap Dave with it.) Faffy's tongue is frog-like and has the ability to stretch great lengths. In addition to grabbing food with it, he frequently wraps his tongue around things and hangs from it, like a monkey uses its tail.

It is unclear whether Faffy is a young dragon or whether he is a fully grown miniature variety. In the episode "The Brutish Are Coming" he is transformed into a giant "guard beast" by Uncle Oswidge with the usual unexpected results. For some reason, in this form he has a tail.

In the show he is best mates with Dave The Barbarian, who nicknames him "Faffums". But in the episode "Bad Food", it's revealed that not only is he smart enough to talk and play cards, BUT he thinks Dave is a big chump (which Dave heard but started to wonder who the big chump was). However, this may have only been a stress-induced paranoid delusion of Dave's, since Dave also sees Candy, Fang, and Uncle Oswidge acting uncharacteristically.

Faffy in most cartoons is a coward, he has however in several episodes saved the day.

In the episode "Here There Be Dragons" Faffy briefly joins a gang of renegade fire-breathing dragons (who were voiced by James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich of the rock group METALLICA).

Faffy likes to put things in his mouth and sometimes swallow it, even if whatever he desires is twice his size. Faffy is a voracious eater, and appears to have a particular affinity for pickles. Dave also feeds him a canned pet food called "Dragon Yum".

Faffy's name might be a parody of Fafnir's, a legendary dragon of Norse mythology.
