John Robert Arthur Dowd
AO LLB (born12 November 1940 ) attendedFort Street High School . He was a member of theLiberal Party of Australia , and the member for Lane Cove in theNew South Wales Legislative Assembly from 1975 to 1991. He served as Opposition Leader from 1981 (he acquired the leadership shortly after that year's election) until 1983 (when he was deposed byNick Greiner ). Afterwards, during Greiner's premiership of New South Wales, Dowd was State Attorney-General (1988-1991). [cite web
