sound pollution ’) is a festival inSweden , hosted byLindesberg ,Örebro County . The festival takes place first weekend in August, hence the name. It was first hosted in 1996, featuring only demo bands, mostly local ones. The festival was free of charge until 2001. It has three different stages with artists playing the festival's main genres: punk, hardcore,grindcore andska .History
The festival started out as a free one-day-festival with only a few local bands, but as the festival got more attention it grew. In 2000 it was held at a
camping area, but the festival didn't start costing money until the year after, and then costing only 100Swedish kronor .After the festival 2006 the crew of Augustibuller thought about not arranging the festival for 2007. The reason for this was the increasing vandalism on the festival. But later that year they announced that an 11th year of Augustibuller would come, with some changes. When the first bands were announced, they also announced that the festival would be held during three days, instead of two.
The festival sold out in 2004, 2005 and 2006.
The festival lost about 400,000 kronor after the 2007 festival because they got circa 1 000 less visitors than the year before.Later the police wanted people under the age of 18 not to visit the festival, due to the big consumption of alcohol by minors. The festival got a loan from the Lindesbergs municipally for 250,000 kronor and agreed to have an age limit of 15 years of age. Confimation for the 2008 festival becoming off came as
