Baron Waleran

Baron Waleran

Baron Waleran, of Uffculme in the County of Devon, was a title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom. It was created on 23 December 1905 for Sir William Walrond, 2nd Baronet, a Conservative politician who had served as Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster from 1902 to 1905. Walrond's elevation to the Peerage did not cause a by-election due to the upcoming general election, where his son, William, succeeded him as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Tiverton.

The 1st Baron had succeeded his father in the Walrond Baronetcy, of Bradfield, Devon, in 1889. The baronetcy had been created in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom on 24 February 1876. The baronetcy and barony became extinct on the death of the 2nd Baron on 4 April 1966.
