Yamila Guerra

Yamila Guerra is a United States-based Cuban actress and singer who has performed on stage and television in Europe and America.

Born in Havana, Yamila began her acting career at the age of seven, performing on some of the most popular Cuban TV programs. She toured the country with her parents and brother,Yalil, performing at numerous venues. She subsequently enrolled in the National Ballet School of Havana, where she studied for five years and began solo dance performances. After graduating, she studied for four more years at the National School of Performing Arts, continuing her studies of music, dance and acting, and graduating with the title of “Alumni Excellence”.

Shortly thereafter, Yamila launched international performance tours in several countries with her parents and brother and their group "Caña Brava". While in Spain, she appeared on a number of television programs as a singer, actress and host, and performed with success in the concert halls of Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Alicante and several other Spanish cities, continuing on to perform at other European venues.

Yamila currently resides in Los Angeles. She has performed on the TV shows "Sábado Gigante", "Los Metiches" and "Caliente", broadcast by the national network Univision, and continues to appear on the TV programs "Cuanto Cuesta el Show" and "De Todo Un Poco", the NBC series "Kingpin" and the "Cante y Gane" show on Azteca America TV. She has also continued to perform in concerts throughout the United States.

*"Amando en Cumbia" (2005) – This Latin Grammy pre-nominated album contains ten songs which blend Cumbia rhythms with Cuban flavor. Two of the songs are written by Yamila. "Hasta que te Conocí" was composed by Juan Gabriel, "Juana La Cubana" was composed by Fito Olivares, and all other songs were composed by Eugenio and Yalil Guerra. The album was produced by Yalil under the label Rycy Productions, Inc.

Yamila is currently recording her fourth album.
