EMAP Humberside is transmitted on frequency block 11B from the [http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Grimsby&ie=UTF8&ll=53.572827,-0.069619&spn=0.00143,0.003288&t=k&z=18&om=1 Bevan Flats] (Grimsby), [http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/294306 Buckton Barn] and [http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=High+Hunsley&sll=54.162434,-3.647461&sspn=11.56667,26.938477&ie=UTF8&ll=53.779304,-0.554423&spn=0.001423,0.003288&t=k&z=18&om=1 Cave Wold] transmitters.

Originally, the High Hunsley transmitter was going to be used instead of [http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/63827 Cave Wold] (a BT microwave transmitter) when the licence was [http://www.ofcom.org.uk/static/archive/rau/newsroom/news-release/00/pr183.htm awarded] in December 2000. EMAP was the [http://www.ofcom.org.uk/static/archive/rau/newsroom/news-release/00/pr127.htm only] bidder - EMAP is the owner of Viking FM. The multiplex started in November 2001. There is a competing DAB multiplex - MXR Yorkshire which broadcasts national DAB stations from the Belmont transmitter. When adoption of DAB radios in the local area reached 31%, a new transmitter was to be put on [http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/181547 Trent View Flats] in Scunthorpe, but this never happened.
