Michael Klein (10 October, 1959 in Amnaş, near Sibiu - 2 February, 1993 in Krefeld) was a Romanian footballer who played as a left back. He most prominently played for Bayer Uerdingen in the German Bundesliga championship. Klein made 90 appearances for the Romanian national team, scoring five times. He was selected to represent Romania at both the Euro 84 and 1990 FIFA World Cup tournaments.

Klein played for Romanian clubs Corvinul Hunedoara and Dinamo Bucureşti before he moved abroad to play for German club Bayer Uerdingen in 1990. When Uerdingen were relegated following Klein's first season at the club, he followed them to the lower 2nd Bundesliga division. Klein helped the team win promotion in 1992, and he played his last Bundesliga game for Uerdingen in December 1992. He died of a heart attack during a training session on February 2, at the age of 33.
