Bletchingly (1970-1993) was a Thoroughbred racehorse foaled in Australia in 1970. A son of Biscay from the Relic (USA) mare Coogee he was bred by Stanley Wootton at Widden Stud.

Thought by his owner to be too small and unsound for a long racing career he was un-raced as a two-year-old and won his only start as a three-year-old at the provincial track of Bendigo.

He show cased his above average ability in his four-year-old season winning the 1975 Australian Jockey Club's The Galaxy and equalling the Flemington course record of 56.8 seconds for the straight 1000 m trip to win the VRC Moomba Handicap.

Retired to stud after only 5 starts with a record of 4 wins and 1 second he earned his owners A$28,715.

An success at stud, he was champion Australian sire on three occasions and sired horses the calibre of three-time Cox Plate winner Kingston Town, Golden Slipper winners Canny Lad and Star Watch, Emancipation, Canny Lass, Boardwalk Angel, Spirit of Kingston, Best Western, True Version, Wrap Around and many more.

He died in July 1993 having sired 61 individual Group winners and established his own sire line.
