North Evian Gulf

North Evian Gulf

The North Evian Gulf (Greek: Βόρειος Ευβοϊκός Κόλπος "Voreios Evvoïkos Kolpos"), also the North Evvian Gulf or the North Euboean Gulf is a gulf of the Aegean Sea. It separates the northern part of the island Euboea from the mainland of Greece. The narrow Euripus strait, near Chalcis, connects the gulf to the south with the South Evian Gulf. To the north, the gulf is connected with the Malian Gulf. The total length is approximately 60 km long and is approximately 10 to 20 km wide. It runs diagonally from southeast to northwest.

The mountains dominate the southwest and the northeast except for the plain which includes Lake Yliki and within the coastline and within Chalkida. Several streams flows to the gulf.
