Brakel (coord|51|49|N|5|5|E|type:city(2515)) is a town in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is a part of the municipality of Zaltbommel, and lies about 8 km east of Gorinchem.

In 2001, the town of Brakel had 2515 inhabitants.
