Michel P. Samson (born 1972 or 1973) is the Liberal MLA for Richmond.

He went to high school at Isle Madame District High, where he graduated with distinction. He started his post-secondary education at Dalhousie University, obtaining his B.A. in History. Samson then attended Dalhousie Law School and in May 1997, graduated with his LL.B with a specialization in Marine Law. In 2004, he married Halifax lawyer Claudine Bardsley.

Prior to the 1998 election, Samson was articling with the Halifax, law firm Blois, Nickerson & Bryson. He was admitted to the Nova Scotia Barrister’s Society in November 1998 and is currently an associate with the Strait area law firm MacDonald, Boudrot, Doucet.

He was elected MLA for Richmond in March 1998. He was 25 at election which made him the youngest member of the Nova Scotia House of Assembly this century.^{[citation needed]} He became the youngest minister ever to be appointed to cabinet in the history^{[citation needed]} of Nova Scotia in December 1998 when he was named as Minister of the Environment and Minister responsible for administration of the Youth Secretariat Act. He was re-elected in the 1999, 2003, and 2006 elections. After the 2006 election and Francis MacKenzie's resignation, Samson served as interim leader for nearly a year until Stephen McNeil was elected leader. Samson himself decided not to be a candidate in the leadership race.^{[citation needed]}
