"The Moan" is the first EP by blues-rock duo, The Black Keys. This is the third and last record released on Alive Records, as the band switched to Fat Possum Records to publish their 2003 album "Thickfreakness". The title track was also made available on a vinyl 7" SP (ALIVE0047-1), with "Have Love Will Travel (Radio Edit)" as the b-side (Alive Records). The original cut of "Have Love Will Travel", which is a Sonics through Richard Berry cover, was first released on "Thickfreakness". "Heavy Soul (alternate)" is a reprise of "The Big Come Up" version. The remaining track is "No Fun", a Stooges cover.
