Hogback Mountains

Hogback Mountains

The Hogback Mountains are a mountain range located in the Central Sierra Nevadas and adjacent to the Bera Mountains. They are pivotal to the tower positioning of modern day fiber optic links. The range provides optimal positioning for the geographical locale in the (many) Sierras throughout the world.

Although only foothills in their geographical classification, the range is used by many to hike and basecamp for spelunking expeditions in nearby California caverns (located in Mountain Ranch, California). Adjunct to the Sierra Nevadas (snowy range) in the Calaveras Creek watershed, not to be confused with the mighty Zambezi (Africa), it creates a rainshadow and optimal mushroom hunting habitat in nearby Calaveras County.
