Jimbo Kern is a recurring character in the animated series "South Park". He is Randy Marsh's half brother, and also uncle to Stan Marsh [http://www.southparkstudios.com/show/display_faq_search.php?section=2&id=34936&tab=10] . However, this is seldom referenced in more recent episodes, and he appears to fight with Randy in the episode "I'm a Little Bit Country". He is voiced by Matt Stone. Jimbo owns a firearms store in South Park. He leads an outdoors lifestyle, and appears usually together with his sidekick Ned Gerblansky. He wears a green hunting vest and is obsessed with guns and hunting. Yet he appears fairly responsible when dealing with the children. He especially likes Kenny McCormick. Also notable given his status as a "redneck," he opposes racism, as is shown in the episode Chef Goes Nanners when he explicitly disavows white supremacy.

Hunting

Jimbo and Ned are best known for their hunting antics. However, their idea of hunting is to slaughter anything and everything in sight, often with military weapons. They seem to have misinterpreted hunting-regulations as attempts by the Democrats to outlaw hunting, and so shout: "It's coming right for us!" before shooting an animal in order to exploit the loophole that they can kill in self-defense.

In the episode "The Mexican Staring Frog of Southern Sri Lanka" it was revealed on Jimbo's TV show "Hunting and Killing" that hunters could not use his catchphrase anymore. So he started using "We need to kill them to thin out their numbers," referring to the fact that hunters serve to control animal overpopulation.

Vietnam

Jimbo was in the Vietnam War, and served as a helicopter pilot. This was the place where he met Ned Gerblansky. In this war Ned accidentally blew his arm off with a grenade. He gave Stan, Kyle, Cartman and Kenny a description about what happened during the war (he told them that there were amusement park rides and that he and Ned beat the entire Vietcong by themselves). Mr. Garrison thought the kids were lying and gave them detention, but when the boys argued with him he hints that he was in Vietnam. However, when Jimbo had a conversation with a cameraman who also was in Vietnam, they talked about the rides and that a friend of the cameraman would still be alive if he had taken a log ride, which means the story Jimbo told actually happened (aside from he and Ned defeating the Vietcong). Which of these stories is true is debatable. He holds a rank of Sergeant.

Huntin' and Killin'

'Huntin' and Killin' is the name of Jimbo and Ned's TV show on 'South Park Public Access' where it shows footage of them hunting. It was first seen in "The Mexican Staring Frog of Southern Sri Lanka" in which they were in a ratings war against the other public access show 'Jesus and Pals'.

The show only pulled around two dozen viewers, beating 'Jesus and Pals' by about two viewers. Since the episode it was shown in, it hasn't been seen since. You can however hear the show on Cartman's TV in episode "Hooked on Monkey Phonics". If you listen closely you can hear that it's the same 'episode' of the show from "The Mexican Staring frog of Southern Sri Lanka".

Episodes in which Jimbo is prominent

* "Volcano" - Takes the boys camping up in the mountains. (Ned is very prominent in this episode.)

* "Big Gay Al's Big Gay Boat Ride" - Convinces everyone to bet on the South Park team in the football tournament because of Stan. (Ned and Jimbo sabotage the North Park mascot.)

* "Weight Gain 4000" - Sells Mr. Garrison a gun, this is actually the first episode Jimbo appeared in, but Volcano was broadcast first.

* "The Mexican Staring Frog of Southern Sri Lanka" - Tells Stan "the truth" about the Vietnam war and has his own TV show. (Ned is also prominent in this episode.)

* "Summer Sucks" - Jimbo and Ned try to buy fireworks in Mexico after they are banned in South Park.

* "Cow Days" - Tries to find out who stole the huge cow clock on "Cow Day".

* "The Red Badge of Gayness" - Leads the South Army in the re-enactment along with Cartman.

* "Chef Goes Nanners" - Tries to keep the South Park flag the way it is. (Ned is with him when they hunt down the Ku-Klux-Klan.)

*"Scott Tenorman Must Die" - Gives Cartman a little advice on how to pay back Scott Tenorman.

*"More Crap" - Along with some of the other guys, helps Randy to get "biggest crap ever" award.

*"Cartman's Mom is Still a Dirty Slut"- He convinces everyone stuck in the studio to resort to cannibalism.

Notes

* In the episode "It Hits the Fan" Jimbo says the word 'fag' without censorship, which causes everyone nearby to assume he is gay. He was attracted to Mrs Tenorman's breasts in Scott Tenorman Must Die, so he may be bisexual.
* Jimbo's car is a Hummer H1, however, in a later episode such as "Smug Alert", he drives a Hummer H2 before he sells it and buys a hybrid car.
*Despite generally liking Kenny McCormick, he has tried to kill Kenny on two occasions; once successfully on the episode "Damien" (though Kenny was turned into a Platypus by the Antichrist), and again unsuccessfully in Cripple Fight when Jimmy is dressed in Kenny's parka, and Jimbo and Ned appear on a rooftop and Jimbo calls out "there's Kenny! Kill him! Kill him!" prompting Ned to fire three times, but Jimbo then says "oh wait that's not him" and the two retreat, leaving Jimmy untouched.
