Laurie Gough is an author of travel books and freelance writer. She has been lauded by "Time Magazine" as "one of the new generation of intrepid young female travel writers".Fact|date=March 2008

Gough is the author of "Kiss the Sunset Pig: An American Road-trip with Exotic Detours", published in 2006. [ISBN 1840244887.] In 1999 she published "Kite Strings of the Southern Cross: A Woman's Travel Odyssey", [ISBN 1885211309] published in Canada as "Island of the Human Heart", which was shortlisted for the Thomas Cook Travel Book Award, and silver medal winner of "ForeWord Magazine"'s Travel Book of the Year in the US.

She is the author of numerous travel articles.
