Juniper Lane is an alternative, four-piece band from the Washington, DC area. Their music has been described as "cryptic, polished dark pop firmly rooted in but not too derivative of ‘80s modern-rock." [ [http://www.ontaponline.com/view_article.php?article_id=10738 On Tap Magazine | View Article ] ]

The band was founded by vocalist/pianist, Vivion, and guitarist, Chris, who started writing music together in the spring of 1998. By that fall, the band had grown to include drummer Eddie, and bassist Freddy. In mid-2008, the band grew to include John Athayde (ex Honor By August).

Their debut album, "Counting," was released in 1999. It was followed up with "Tightrope" in 2001 and "Sirens From a Mile Back" in 2003. The band took off most of 2004 for Vivion to recover from a nearly fatal rock-climbing accident. After her recovery, they returned to the studio during 2005 and 2006. The band released "Wake From Yourself" locally at a sold out cd release show at the 9:30 Club on August 18, 2007. The band is going to enter the LoWatt Studio again from July 18-27 to record a new EP.

In 2007, the "Washington Post" described Juniper Lane as "the total package," playing "polished, radio-ready rock." [ [http://blog.washingtonpost.com/goingoutgurus/2007/09/new_music_from_local_bands_6.html New Music From Local Bands - Going Out Gurus ] ] Washington, D.C.'s entertainment magazine, "OnTap", described Wake From Yourself as being "ready to kick radio and live ass." Juniper Lane has toured extensively on the East Coast, including shows at colleges, clubs, and venues such as the , Recher Theatre, and DC's 99.1 HFStival, as well as performing in-studio for commercial radio and on live television. The band's song-writing has afforded them the opportunity to work with such industry professionals as producer Ted Comerford (Zox, Army of Me), Joe Zook (Modest Mouse, Remy Zero, Liz Phair, Anna Nalick), Paul David Hager (American Hi-Fi, Hoobastank, Tracy Bonham), and Mitch Easter (R.E.M., Wilco, Suzanne Vega).
