American Programmer

American Programmer

American Programmer is a high-end independent magazine for programmers and software technologists. The magazine was founded in the 1990s, and published by Edward Yourdon, inventor of the Yourdon Method of structured systems analysis and design methodology (SSADM) and the Coad/Yourdon Object-Oriented Analysis Methodology.

In the early '90s, Cutter Information Corp. (now Cutter Consortium) partnered with Ed Yourdon to publish American Programmer, which was later renamed Cutter IT Journal (CITJ).

Cutter IT Journal differs from academic journals, which can delay coverage of timely issues with lengthy peer reviews. Each month, CITJ's expert Guest Editor delivers articles by internationally known IT practitioners that include case studies, research findings, and experience-based opinion on the IT topics enterprises face today. CITJ brings together many cutting-edge thinkers, and encourages them speak bluntly, debating the issues that are most important to IT professionals.
