McCloskey Elementary is a public elementary school in Delta, British Columbia part of School District 37 Delta.

History

McCloskey Elementary School was named for the McCloskey family which homesteaded on the McCloskey Road, which is now 115th Street. Their farm was on the west side of the junction of 80th Avenue (Gray Road) and 115th Street. The land for McCloskey Elementary School, which was the site of a mink farm in the 1930's and 40's was surveyed in September 1971 and subsequently purchased from nine different property owners. The school building was constructed in 1972 with additions of four rooms in 1974 and eight rooms in 1975. An additional four rooms were added on in 1985. The building was constructed by the School District building crew.

The school opened as a satellite of Chalmers Elementary School and later the first on-site principal was Brian Kirkbride.
