School District 71 Comox Valley is a school district on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. This includes the communities of Courtenay and Comox as well as the surrounding rural areas and the adjacent islands of Denman and Hornby.
History
The Comox School district was formed July 30, 1870 while the area was still part of the Colony of Vancouver Island.

Recently, SD71 changed their schooling system from K-6, 7-9, and 10-12 to K-7 and 8-12. Many schools were also closed down and Brooklyn Elementary was split into a campus of K-3 and 4-7.
