Jason Figgis

Managing Director and Award-winning director of October Eleven Pictures, Jason Figgis has an extensive background in the entertainment industry, having worked creatively on two seasons of Murakami Wolf's hugely successful TV animated series 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles'. He went on to work for the 'Roger Rabbit' creator Richard Williams on the cult feature 'The Thief and the Cobbler' - featuring the voice talents of horror legend Vincent Price and Sean Connery and for Steven Spielberg on Amblination's 'American Tail 2 - Fievel Goes West', - featuring the voice talent of Hollywood legend James Stewart, where Jason created special effects for key scenes. Since moving to directing Live Action in 2002, Jason has directed double IFTA award nominated and critically acclaimed 'The Twilight Hour', the award winning 'Cursed' including other well received feature documentaries for Sky One, Discovery Channel, SVT (Sweden), RTE Network 2 (Ireland), KSM (Germany), Spentzos Films (Greece) and Sky Arts. Currently Jason is in Post Production on his debut dramatic feature film '3Crosses'. Jason’s recently directed short films ‘Jo Jo’ and ‘Friends Like These’ feature music contributions from acclaimed musicians Damien Dempsey and Moby. Jason is also a director of photography and an editor and member of the Screen Directors Guild of Ireland.

In 1999, Jason and his younger brother Jonathan embarked on their collaborative filmmaking careers working on their first short film, Pallida Mors. But it was the advent of digital technology combined with their childhood dreams of making movies that lead them to set up the company, October Eleven Pictures in February 2001. Jason directs while his younger brother Jonathan produces.

Jason has been busy over the past couple of years working as director, director of photography and writer on a variety of programmes for The Discovery Channel, Sky One, Sky Arts, RTE (Ireland), SVT (Sweden) KSM (Germany), and Spentzos Films (Greece) among others. These shows include the feature length documentary "The Twilight Hour", "Uri's Haunted Cities: Venice" with paranormalist Uri Geller and the co-production "A Maverick In London" featuring Joanna Lumley, Steven Berkoff, Richard E. Grant, Alan Rickman and many more. There has been much success on the festival circuit with official selections at many international festivals, an Independent Film & Television Alliance (IFTA) award nomination in 2003 and won Best Feature Film for 'A Curious Incident In The Life of Uri Geller' in 2006 - since renamed 'Cursed' and distributed through their Los Angeles based Sales Agents, Showcase Entertainment Inc. In 2008, Jason directed two short films - 'Jo Jo' and 'Friends Like These', the former which featured a score by the acclaimed musician Damien Dempsey and the latter, scored by acclaimed musician Moby. Jason and his film company, along with brother Jonathan and Jason's wife Bernadette Manton have several feature film projects in various stages of development.

At present, Jason is devoting his time to getting October Eleven Picture's first feature film "3Crosses" completed for Spring 2009 whilst preparing for post-production on two feature films (shot Autumn 2007) titled 'Blood' (written and directed by Bernadette Manton) and 'Handheld' (directed by Jason).
