Girona Futbol Club is a football team based in Girona, Catalonia, Spain. Founded in 1930, it plays in "Segunda División" after of promotion in the 2007-08 season in the playoffs. Their stadium is "Estadi Montilivi", which has a capacity of 10,000 seats.

History

On July 23, 1930, in the cafè Norat in "la Rambla" of Girona, "Girona Futbol Club" was founded, upon disappearance of "UE Girona". The team subsequently entered in the second division of the Catalan Championships.

The first official match was played in the "Colònia Artigas", and the team would eventually compete in the second level, between 1934-1943 (6 seasons), 1948-1951 and 1956-1959.
