St Hilda's Church is the
Church in Wales (Anglican )parish church ofGriffithstown inTorfaen in south-eastWales .The church stands on the corner of Kemys Street and Sunnybank Road (formerly Church Road). It is dedicated to Saint Hilda,
Abbess ofWhitby and was built in1888 in Early English style and consists ofchancel ,nave and southern porch.There is a
vicarage , built later than the church itself, adjacent to the church on Sunnybank Road. The firstvicar was Rev Mr James Dunn was alsochaplain of the Union Workhouse on Coedygric Road (nowCounty Hospital ) and an alumnus ofUniversity of Wales, Lampeter . The presentvicar (in2007 ) is Rev Mr Colin Wilcox.The church meets the needs of
Anglican worship inGriffithstown but also the wider community includingPontypool .
