"Pat and Margaret" (1994) is a BBC television film written by British comedian Victoria Wood and starring her in the role of Margaret. Wood's frequent comedy partner Julie Walters co-stars as Margaret's long-lost sister Pat. The film was directed by Gavin Millar.

The story follows Margaret, a plodding motorway service station cook, who goes on a works outing to a television studio to see a "Surprise, Surprise" style show being recorded. Margaret is invited onto the stage during the recording and reunited with her long-lost sister Pat Bedford. The story shows how the two characters are pushed together by the media despite their lives having taken very different paths. Margaret is a cook. Pat is a famous Hollywood actor and has starred in a high profile television drama similar to "Dynasty" or "Dallas".

The cast of this funny, sad and heart-warming story includes several of the actors who have often worked with Victoria Wood such as Thora Hird, Celia Imrie and Duncan Preston. It drew many comparisons with northern English dramatist Alan Bennett for its complex characterisation and observational dialogue.

Lines from a memorable scene

"She's given me a sex life."
"A sex life? Where has she given you a sex life?"
"On your bed."
"NOT ON THE EIDERDOWN!"
